KBS Declares the Tourv Shaft

Already established on the PGA Tour, the Tour V shaft offers a lightweight and low twist alternative to golfers

BOULDER, Colo. (September 30th, 2013) Today, KBS Golf Shafts declares an all-new steel shaft, the Tour-V. The KBS Tour-V has been the shaft that is sure such as the 2013 Open Championship, on professional tours for triumphs globally. Just like the popular Tour shaft in trajectory and feel, it features a lighter weight design. This new offering compliments the already popular line of KBS iron shafts.

In development on the PGA Tour since 2012, the Tour V enters the aftermarket established with the best players on the planet. While keeping the exceptional feel KBS has become renowned for the lower twist operation in a lighter weight is reached. The Tour V is obtainable in three flexes: R-100grams, S-110g, and X 120g.

The Tour V was selected by Callaway Golf as the iron, the Apex Pro of the stock shaft for their latest player. Accessible in all three flexes, the Apex Pro iron will be on sale Q1 2014. The Tourv shaft can be obtained for preorder immediately through authorized KBS merchants with orders transportation November 1st.

"We are extremely excited to add the Tourv shaft. It's been tested and perfected in the last year and a half, and really delivers on offering a tight dispersion shaft in a light weight package. Are spot on. Dispersion with the Tour V is some of the tightest it keeps our touch smooth feel and we've ever seen. Lighter weight is becoming more popular and this enables golfers to swing a little more easy. Our team is thrilled to bring this shaft to marketplace and see it as the stock shaft for Callaway's new player's iron." Said Kim Braly, Manager of at KBS and Tour Operations R&D Golf Shafts.

During robot and player testing, the KBS team has found tremendous results. The Tour V offers a functionality that is somewhat different: up to 20% tighter shot dispersion than other popular shafts on the PGA Tour, a mid trajectory and 10% lighter weight. This distinction in performance enables KBS to offer another excellent option to golfers to enhance their iron play.

In another important development for KBS, Callaway had determined to make the Tourv a stock steel shaft in the new Apex Pro iron which is available in January. This points to an essential outlook on shafts: Simply because touring professionals have success with various versions does not mean they can be used by average golfers successfully. Sometimes, the truth is, these shafts are just too powerful for typical players.

That is not the case here, keeps Braly, who said: "This shaft can be utilized by golfers of many different types of skills. Only try it and make up your own mind."

Lawrie, Harrington, Piercy and Mickelson are using a 125-g touring professional version of the shaft. Nevertheless, three other weights can be found for hobbyists: 120, 100 and 110 gs. All three perform in an identical way to the shaft that is touring professional, in accordance with Braly.

All the Tourv shafts feature a mid-trajectory flight design, and the principal subject in all three is tight dispersion. This dispersion is what KBS will be talking about in 2014, and the firm says the shaft can reach as much as a 20 percent tighter dispersion than rivals' shafts. It is a bold claim in a marketplace that features some really popular shafts whose effectiveness was demonstrated in recreational and professional competitors.
